(March 2010 – Montvale, NJ) – Good Earth has done “good” for the world and the people in it with the completion of its Good Earth Cares program. The company is giving 50% of its after-tax profits generated by the sale of its products from 10/25/09 through 2/28/10 to the top three charities chosen by voters on GoodEarthCares.com. With tens of thousands of votes cast for dozens of different charities, Good Earth is pleased to announce that a $30,000 donation will be divided among the three winning charities: the American Foundation for Children with AIDS, Operation Gratitude and the Home Safety Council.

The winning non-profit organizations include the American Foundation for Children with AIDS, Operation Gratitude and the Home Safety Council

The American Foundation for Children with AIDS is an organization that helps HIV+/AIDS children and their families in sub-Saharan Africa who do not have access to much needed medical aid. “A donation of $10,000 can go a long way in helping these children receive the care that they need and deserve,” said Tanya Weaver, Executive Director of the American Foundation for Children with AIDS. “We’d like to thank Good Earth for such a generous and selfless donation and our supporters who helped make us one of the top three charities.”

Operation Gratitude is a volunteer corporation that sends individually addressed care packages containing food, hygiene items, entertainment items and personal letters to troops serving overseas. "We are thrilled to be one of the three winning finalists in the Good Earth Cares donation giveaway," said Carolyn Blashek, founder of Operation Gratitude. "This award of $10,000 will enable us to send a total of 100,000 care packages to deployed troops this year, putting smiles on their faces during a difficult time away from home. My deepest thanks to all our supporters who voted for Operation Gratitude, and to Good Earth for their generosity, kindness and respect for all the charities in this giveaway."

The Home Safety Council is an organization dedicated to educating the public about preventing accidents and injuries that happen at home. "Thank you Good Earth," said Meri-K Appy, President of the Home Safety Council. "This generous donation will support our home injury prevention education programs in at-risk communities around the nation. Families in the U.S. will be safer because Good Earth cares."

In addition to the $30,000 Good Earth Cares donation, the company also awarded $500 donations each month to randomly selected charities tweeted by followers on Twitter. Winning charities include Alex’s Lemonade Stand, A World Fit For Kids, Operation Gratitude and the Zoological Society of New Jersey.

Good Earth would like to congratulate the winning charities and to thank all of the participating organizations and their supporters who got involved in such a good cause.
