Tea Folk Go To South Africa On Redbush Quest

Tetley continues to build on the success of the tea-folk’s return with a new television advert in which the iconic characters go to South Africa to find out about Redbush tea.

With a good dose of humour and adventure the £2.5m campaign sees Gaffer and his team being shown around by a ‘Redbush Ranger’ to see where Redbush is grown and learn why it is so special.

Sales of Redbush/Rooibos teas have grown significantly in the last year and Tetley Redbush 40s is the best selling Redbush SKU in the market.

“Tetley Redbush is an excellent choice for our first SKU specific tea-folk ad,” says Simon Attfield, Customer Marketing Controller for Tetley. “Despite the sales success we have had with Redbush, awareness among consumers of the benefits of Redbush and of Tetley Redbush in general is relatively low. This latest campaign will help redress this.”

The television adverts will be supported by a print and ambient poster campaign and by online activity.

The activity supports the current ‘Try Me Free’ promotion which includes packs of Redbush 40s. Two months of product stock are included in the promotion in which consumers can have the cost of the special packs redeemed online using a code printed on the pack.

“It is all about getting consumers to give Tetley Redbush a go. It is a great tasting product,” Simon Attfield adds, “It is naturally caffeine free so appeals to those wanting to cut down or eliminate caffeine from their diet. What’s more it is naturally sweet so if you are watching your weight it makes the transition to a sugar free cuppa that much easier to bear!”
