Canada’s number one tea brand enters the on demand single serve category in Canada

Tetley, Canada’s number one tea brand , and TASSIMO, Canada’s leading on-demand beverages brand , are today announcing an agreement to produce, market and sell Tetley tea T DISCs exclusively for the TASSIMO on-demand beverage system in Canada. Tetley Orange Pekoe and Pure Green Tea T DISCs will appear at select grocery, mass and specialty retailers as well as tassimo.ca later this Autumn.

Since 1837, the tea experts at Tetley have chosen only the finest tea leaves from around the world to blend at their UK facility. That same tea blend will be in the Tetley TASSIMO T DISCs.

“Tetley tea drinkers are very loyal and great taste and consistency are extremely important to them,” says Kathy Grant-Munoz, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales at Tata Global Beverages Canada which markets the Tetley brand in Canada. “We’re very pleased to partner with TASSIMO because the TASSIMO barcode technology ensures that each Tetley T DISC is brewed to a high standard and delivers a perfectly steeped Tetley tea taste just at the touch of a button.”

TASSIMO’s barcode technology customizes the brewing instructions ensuring that every cup of tea is brewed to exact specifications, every time. The brewer reads the barcode and then delivers the precise water temperature, water quantity and brew time for each beverage.

TASSIMO is the tea leader in the on-demand single serve category, holding 67 per cent share of the category . The TASSIMO brand is owned by Kraft Foods.
