Tata Consumer Products extends product & category portfolio, launches premium Honey and Preserves under Himalayan
Tata Consumer Products (TCP), the consumer products company uniting the principal food and beverage interests of the Tata Group under one umbrella, today announced its entry into the premium Honey and Preserve category under its Himalayan brand. Himalayan is a well-known premium water brand in the market and enjoys significant equity among consumers owing to the fact that it is natural mineral water bottled directly from the source in the foot hills of Himalayas with strong sustainability credentials. With this launch, the brand extends its product portfolio into new categories and will be available all India in select premium outlets. In line with the brand credentials both these new product offerings are being sourced from the Himalayan belt.
Himalayan Preserves are handmade in small batches using Himalayan-origin fruits and sourced from partners committed to helping local communities. These would be available in five flavours - Strawberry, Apricot, Black Cherry, Apple Cinnamon and Three Fruit Marmalade with no added flavours or preservatives.
Himalayan Honey comes with NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) test quality seal to ensure high quality. The honey is being sourced from ‘Pahaadi Utpaad', Tata Trusts’ associate organization that works on promoting traditional bee keeping methods with an objective to source unadulterated mountain honey and establish a mountain honey value chain.
Speaking about the new launch, Mr. Vikram Grover, MD NourishCo Beverages Limited, Tata Consumer Products said “The Himalayan brand has a very loyal consumer base and has over time stood for the natural Himalayan experience and continues to inspire consumers to make elevated choices in life. We are happy to be partnering with local Himalayan communities to bring the new offerings to not only delight our consumers with more products of the Himalayan origin but also doing our bit to serve the local communities there through our partnership. We see a great opportunity to enhance the Himalayan brand with this extension and provide a differentiated consumer experience.’
The new range of Himalayan Honey will be available at Rs. 300 for a 250 g pack while the preserves are priced at Rs 425 for a 450 g pack. They will be available at select premium stores nationally.
