Tata Global Beverages sites at Eaglescliffe and Newton Aycliffe have won a prestigious national award in recognition of their outstanding contribution and commitment to training, learning and development in the workplace.

We were named Large Employer of the year at the 2011 National Training Awards (NTA), after beating off fierce competition from across the country and from other industry sectors. Our winning training programme to boost factory productivity and give employees valuable qualifications for the future proved to be a hit with the judges.

Tony Stubbs, Plant Manager at Eaglescliffe said: &Ldquo;Winning this award is amazing and to be recognized in this way for the significant changes we have made in training is an achievement we can really be proud of. We are delighted that the work we have done to make changes to the way we work at Tata Global Beverages has had such an impact on our staff, on productivity and on absenteeism and we have a strong foundation to build upon in the future. Our vision for 2013 is huge: but we are well on the road to becoming the best and winning this award is testament to that.” Tata Global Beverages, NTA winner in the Large Employer category for the North East, joined other winners from across England, Northern Ireland and Wales at the Winners of the Year event. Ten employees from Eaglescliffe received the award at a prestigious ceremony in London on 5th October.

The National Training Awards celebrate and showcase ‘Investors in People’-accredited employers who demonstrate organisational benefits gained by directly linking training needs of staff to the business needs of the organisation.
